Amy Stork with Solid Ground Consulting has been conducting a Needs Assessment for the YCRCD. As part of this assessment, Ms. Stork has reached out to a number of local, state, and federal agencies, local organizations, and YCRCD partners to determine what the local resource conservation needs are for Yuba County and how YCRCD could help address these needs. Funds for this Assessment are coming from a California Department of Conservation Financial Assistance Program grant and the Yuba Water Agency. Results from this Assessment will be available by June 2022.
Waste Removal from Eight Yuba County Farm Properties Has Begun
Contracted workers recently began to clean up illegally dumped solid waste from eight Yuba County farm properties located near the confluence of the Yuba and Feather rivers. Following this cleanup, abatement actions such as the installation of gates, will be performed. This work, which is expected to be finished in summer 2022, is being funded through a CalRecycle Farm and Ranch Solid Waste Cleanup and Abatement Grant.
